Purpose

The music ministry exists for the purpose of glorifying God and edifying his people through the offering of hymns, psalms, and spiritual songs in worship.

Programs

Senior Choir

  • Comprised of approximately 30 members, high school age through adult
  • Provides musical leadership for the 11:15 Sunday services September through June
  • Offers special choral services throughout the year

Novice Chorister Training Program

  • Offers children the opportunity to experience the joy of creating beautiful music
  • Enables children to make a serious contribution to liturgy
  • Develops invaluable musical skills, affirms ministry of leading worship, and bonds children to the church community
    • Cantor’s Guild
      • Comprised of older, experienced choristers (7th – 12th grade)
      • Leads music for our 9 a.m. Sunday services September through May
    • Treble Choir
      • Comprised of children in 3rd – 6th grade
      • Sings once monthly for the 9 a.m. Sunday service, Christmas Eve, and Easter
    • Half Notes Choir
      • Novice choir for children ages 4 – 6
      • Sings in church 3 – 4 times per year, plus Christmas Eve and Easter Participation

Participation

Choir

Senior Choir

Membership is open to anyone with a song in his/her heart who is able and willing to make a commitment of attending rehearsals and services with reasonable consistency. A pleasant voice and the ability to “carry a tune” is necessary. Being able to read music is a plus, but not a requirement.

Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings, 7 – 9 p.m. and on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. preceding the 11:15 a.m. service.

Novice Chorister Training Program

This program is open to children age 4 – 12th grade.

Cantor’s Guild
Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Treble Choir
Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Half Notes Choir
Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings, 5:30 – 6 p.m.
