The Rev. Meredith Kefauver Olsen
Mother Meredith is a native of the Philadelphia suburbs who has lived in the Baltimore area since 2008. She earned a Bachelor of Music in Church Music from Birmingham Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama. She went directly from there to seminary at Emory University’s Candler School of Theology in Atlanta, GA. Mother Meredith moved to NYC to pursue a Master of Sacred Theology in Liturgics and an Anglican Studies Diploma at The General Theological Seminary in 2004 — steps taken to complete the Episcopal ordination requirements. Shortly after graduating, she was ordained in Atlanta, Georgia.
Mother Meredith has served a number of parishes in Maryland and Pennsylvania, and has served as a hospital chaplain at Hopkins Bayview and University of Maryland St. Joseph’s Hospital. She also served as an Army chaplain in the Maryland Army National Guard.
Mother Meredith lives in the Federal Hill neighborhood of Baltimore with her husband, Derek — a New Testament scholar, author, and IT professional. They have two daughters: Greta, 22, a graduate student in the Music Technology program at NYU in New York City, and Hannah, 19, a sophomore architecture student at Catholic University in Washington DC.
Mother Meredith loves to run, bike, and swim and is a regular competitor in triathlon, running, and cycling races. She also enjoys reading, baking, cooking, anything related to history, being outdoors, and spending time with her family.
