About our Rector

Church entrance with landscaping and a welcoming door

In Autumn 2023, the Rev. Dr. James L. Pahl, Jr., assumed the leadership of All Saints Church Chevy Chase Parish. Since then, we have been excited to see how God’s Spirit is transforming and growing us under Rev. Pahl’s wisdom and direction. He was formally installed as Rector in a beautiful service on March 9, 2024. (Installation service picture gallery HERE.)

Rev. Pahl grew up in Raleigh, NC. He is a lifelong Episcopalian, and much of his early faith formation occurred at St. Michael’s Church in Raleigh. Jamie attended Virginia Theological Seminary (VTS) where he earned a Master in Divinity degree in 2005. He previously served as Assistant Rector at St. James Parish in Wilmington, NC; as Rector of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Oxford, NC; and as Vicar (senior assisting clergy) at his home parish of St. Michael’s since 2019. He earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from VTS in 2018.

Jamie and his wife, Susie, have four children: twin 23-year-old boys, Henry and Jonah; Caroline (20); and Eliza (15). Click HERE to read Jamie’s full bio.
