Pastoral Care & Prayer Ministry

Church entrance with landscaping and a welcoming door
We are committed to caring for each other, especially during these times. If you are in need, please contact the church office at (301) 654-2488. All requests confidential.

Through his ministry of healing and his deep compassion for those who suffer, Jesus taught us that God cares for our whole person. Our pastoral care leadership, in conjunction with committed lay ministers, support those in the parish who are in spiritual and physical need through phone calls and visits, prayer, meals, and more.

Visiting Ministry

Whether incapacitated briefly or for the long-term, everyone needs to feel loved and cared for. It is through that love and care that Visiting Ministers serve God and their fellow parishioners. Visiting Ministers call, visit, and send cards to parishioners of all ages; they also provide meals, rides to church, and take the Eucharist to those who request it. Some Visiting Ministers take flowers, soup, reading material, or whatever the individual likes or needs. Others take nothing except their loving hearts and smiling faces. The Visiting Ministry team visits parishioners in a variety of settings – nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals, and homes. For information, or to sign up to give or to receive a meal, please contact the church office.
