Ash Wednesday Services
Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent in the Episcopal tradition, a forty-day journey of reflection, repentance, and renewal as we prepare for the joy of Easter.
Ash Wednesday invites us to pause at the threshold of Lent and return to God with honesty, humility, and hope. In this quiet and prayerful service, we listen to Scripture, confess our need for mercy, and receive ashes in the shape of a cross—an ancient sign that we belong to God, even in our weakness, and are being drawn toward the promise of Easter.
We hope you will join us for our noon or 7pm service. Our noon service will focus on a simple liturgy for the day, with prayers, scripture readings, and imposition of ashes. It will conclude before 1 pm.
In addition to the liturgy and imposition of ashes, our 7 pm Ash Wednesday service will include more music, congregational hymns, and the choir. During this service we will also have a nursery downstairs for younger children who are unable to sit quietly and enjoy a service.
