D. R. Mission Trip

We are blessed to be able to work with Dr. Silvia Martinez and The Luke Society in Santo Domingo this summer, from July 22 – 29. Dr. Silvia is an amazing servant of God with a heart for the poorest of the poor in her country. We are so fortunate to be able to partner with her and this incredible organization. In their own words: “The Luke Society provides resources and support for international Christian health visionaries passionate about ministering to needs in their own cultures. Our mission empowers nationals to share the saving grace of the Gospel through preaching, teaching and healing.”

Our teams have served with Dr. Silvia and The Luke Society for more than 10 years – sending some 65 people since 2013 to help deliver medicine and food; build schools, homes, and feeding centers; assist with feeding programs; and help run Vacation Bible School. Our goal is to assist in any way possible, wherever needed, so that Dr. Silvia and her team may do the important work they are already involved in – and more of it. Part of the funds we raise (or money that All Saints Missions donates) goes towards construction supplies, food, medicine, teachers stipends, etc.

Most of our work has been focused on El Cacique – a community on the outskirts of Santo Domingo located next to the city dump. It is here that The Luke Society first started it’s feeding programs, school, and church. We have also spent time each trip traveling 3+ hours west of the city to serve in the bateys (rural communities of Haitian sugar cane workers) – building, delivering food and medicine, and ministering to the children.
