The Steadfast Love of the Lord
Dear Parish Family –
Every day, I see God’s blessings surrounding All Saints Church and its ministries. Although I write with some bittersweet news today, I rejoice in knowing that God’s faithfulness and mercies never come to an end.
Lisa Hollingsworth has decided to enter retirement after 14 years serving as the Director of our All Saints Preschool. Her last day will be June 30. I am truly sad to see her go but overwhelmingly grateful for her many years of outstanding work.
Lisa has been the director of our Preschool since the school first opened and has led it through continued growth and excellence. Under her leadership, All Saints Preschool has:
- • Proclaimed the Gospel of Jesus Christ in both word and deed;
- • Provided a solid education that nurtures the children’s mental, physical, and spiritual health;
- • Grown to a record enrollment of 89 children;
- • Installed a new playground and tot lot;
- • Improved diversity to where the Preschool is truly an international community with ties even to some of the embassies here in DC;
- • Established strong relationships among families and faculty, making ASP as much of a community as it is a school; and
- • Ensured the wellbeing of the students and secured the best teachers available.
Obviously, that’s the bitter news, but here is the sweet. Sara Tobin, our current Assistant Director, has agreed to move into the Director position upon Lisa’s departure.
You may never have met her, but Sara is known for many wonderful qualities and accomplishments. In particular, she has excelled in the areas admissions, marketing, database management and communications, teacher training, student health and safety, and event planning. We are blessed to have her.
In short, All Saints Preschool is moving from Lisa’s great leadership to Sara’s great leadership. Like the verse says above, the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases!
Please join me in wishing Lisa a happy and relaxing retirement and in congratulating Sara as she begins her new role. Let us also pray that God would bless these remarkable women and the Preschool both now and forevermore.
And may God’s steadfast love and mercy rest upon each of you every day as well.
In Christ,
Fr. BJ+
